Medical Informatics is a distinguished specialization that emerged from the convergence of several fields: Information Science, Computer Science, and Healthcare. This field addresses the resources, devices, and methods required to enhance the collection and storage of medical information, as well as to improve the retrieval and utilization of information in health and biomedical contexts.
This program covers a wide range of areas, including informatics specializations, decision support systems, telemedicine, health informatics for all stakeholders within the healthcare system, international healthcare systems, and global health informatics. Furthermore, it is designed to focus on supporting complex medical decision-making, evidence-based medicine, disease management, and population health management.
From this perspective, the Faculty of Computers and Artificial Intelligence – Benha University has designed this program in response to the growing demand for this specialization at the global, regional, and local levels.
